Talk by Gavin Bell of SANparks

Zwaanswyk TokaiThe Zwaanswyk Association of Property Owners would like to extend an invitation to Tokai residents to attend a talk by Gavin Bell of SANparks on the 5th May at 7.30pm at The Range. He will be talking about the closure of the park, rehabilitation plans and possible land-slides that could happen as a result of all the tree clearances.

There will be a cash bar and it is hoped that people can stay after the talk and socialize together.

The Revolution Food Fair is Moving to Tokai

The Revolution Food Fair is a banting-focused market taking place monthly on the first or last Sunday of the month.

On offer, a variety of delicious banting foods and products, as well as local wines and live jazz to keep you entertained.  A portion of the funds raised from the event will be donated to the Peninsula School Feeding Association.

Confirmed 2015 Dates: Sunday 29 March 2015.

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Earth Fair Market in Tokai

earth-fair-stpatricks-690x460The Earth Fair Market in Tokai is a great place to do your weekly food shop. They have an excellent range of grass fed meat, real free range chicken, eggs, butter, dairy, organic veggies, fish and all kinds of breads.

They also can’t resist having some fun on occasions and St Patrick’s Day offers a great excuse to spice things up.  This coming Saturday (14 March 2015) and the following Wednesday (18 March 2015), the market will be celebrating the ever-so-Irish occasion with green beer, green traders and green food.  They will also have live music on the Wednesday. 

If you’re bringing children, don’t forget there’s a great Little People’s Corner so the kids can have fun too.

The 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Tokai Residents’ Association will be held on Tuesday November 11, at 7.30pm, at The Range, Orpen Road, Tokai. The guest speaker is Dr Helen Robinson whose latest book ‘Constantia and its Neighbours’ will be on sale. Refreshments will be served. All welcome. For inquiries call 082 701 0048.


The Mission of the Tokai Residents Association is to support the residents in perpetuating the atmosphere, environmental qualities and investments they have made in Tokai by pro-actively engaging with any body or organization, be it Municipal or private, which may threaten the status quo.

Their objectives are to :

  • retain the unspoilt rural character of Tokai and surrounding areas
  • ensure the continuation of the Single Residential Zoning that is established in the area
  • ensure the compliance with town planning requirements, regulations and procedures
  • restrict the scope and extent of commercial activities in the area
  • control and prevent ground, water, air, noise, light and signage pollution as well as traffic congestion
  • ensure that all traffic signs are visible and adhered to
  • encourage the preservation and maintenance of the natural environment in and around Tokai, including forest areas, open spaces and parks
  • ensure the conservation and upkeep of the historical and cultural environment in Tokai
  • monitor the upkeep and maintenance of all municipal services and infrastructures
  • monitor the provision of adequate and effective health and safety measures
  • prevent organized public and private events that may negatively impact on residents
  • work with residents to ensure a safe and environmentally friendly area
  • make residents aware that the TRA is here to assist them in keeping Tokai a desirable place to live
