Why Buy in Tokai?

Tokai-TreesWhen Googling perfect places to live in the Southern Suburbs one should do a search on “Tokai”.  Results may vary – you could end up exploring the Tokai of nuclear power plant fame in Japan, or even find yourself learning about Tokai Guitars, a top-selling brand also from Japan but of course what you really want is all the information on the leafy, family-orientated suburb of Tokai Cape Town!

Once you start reading you will quickly learn that our Tokai was named after a range of hills in Hungary and that its ancient forests and slightly younger pine plantations hold many stories of historical significance dating back to the days when it was largely an agricultural stretch, sparsely populated with farms and homesteads and watched over by the inscrutable “Elephant’s Eye” peak of the Constantiaberg Mountains.

Today’s Tokai is a relaxed and still-rural suburb attracting and retaining families who have discovered the lifestyle and convenience offered by its location and amenities.  Similar to Bergvliet in many respects, but often regarded at the ‘next step up’ the property ladder by many Capetonians, it ticks all the boxes.  Topped by the newly modernized Forest Glade House and stretching down to the fabulous new Blue Route Mall, Tokai offers easy access to the M3, Main Road and Steenberg Road. Shops, schools, churches and medical facilities take care of life’s priorities but throw in leisure activities such as biking, hiking, walking and golfing and you have an irresistible mix.
